Jake and Brett have a conversation about the COVID-19 pandemic. They share how it has affected them as well as practical ways to navigate our hearts and relationships during these difficult times

The coronavirus is affecting everyone in different ways
The pandemic exposes some interesting things that maybe we didn’t notice before like video games that simulate ending the world with a disease
It’s important to be practice self-awareness in navigating the heart and difficult times
We can intentionally choose faith and not fear
Unfortunately some people seem to be trying to take advantage of this difficult time
This pandemic is hopefully helping us be more contentious of others
Tips for navigating the heart in times like this:
Increase prayer
Practice diaphragmatic breathing to help with anxiety
“Take every thought captive” (2 Cor 10:5) and be careful to not agree with lies or half truths
Be aware of the reactions you are having and bring Jesus into them
Get outside, notice and be grateful for beauty
Practice the 3 R’s (repent, reject, receive)
Ask the question, “How can I bless people?”
Try to get some perspective
In the midst of incredible suffering there is an opportunity for great heroism
Stay connected with others - be creative in connecting with people digitally
