Episode 80 - Wild at Heart (Part 2): An Adventure to Live
This week, Jake and Brett break open the second of three core desires of the masculine heart, based on John Eldredge’s book, “Wild at Heart”: an adventure to live. In order to embrace adventure and live as we were created to, we have to have a certain amount of risk in our lives.
Key Points
Highs of golfing, spending time together and the restrictions on gathering for Mass lifted. This is balanced with the low of “why did it take so dang long to re-open our churches?!?”
A regular dose of risk is critically important for the masculine soul. We are meant to learn and that takes exploration.
Smaller adventures and hobbies are meant to lead us to the larger adventure of becoming a man
Balancing risk and imprudence
You don’t want to risk losing sonship. At some point, a guy needs to step out to become his own man.
Each of these three core desires point us back to being a son of the Father.
