In this episode Jake and Brett continue the series on security, maturity, and purity by focusing on the stage of security which is the foundation of the masculine journey and our life in God.

Security is knowing we are the apple of Abba Father’s eye and that God delights in us just for who we are, not for what we do
Humanly speaking Jesus was formed in the area of security for 30 years (the hidden years)
The baptism of Jesus shows how the Father delights in Jesus and in us when He says, “You are beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”
“The language of faith thus draws on the human experience of parents, who are in a way the first representatives of God for man. But this experience also tells us that human parents are fallible and can disfigure the face of fatherhood and motherhood.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 239)
The foundation of our life in God is security
“Of Thérèse of Lisieux, it can be said…that the Spirit of God enabled her heart to reveal directly, to the men and women of our time, the fundamental mystery, the reality of the Gospel: the fact [that we’ve] really received ‘a spirit of adoption as children that makes us cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’’ The Little Way…holds a confirmation and renewal of the most fundamental and universal truth. For what truth of the Gospel message is more fundamental and universal than this: that God is our Father and we are his children.” (St. Pope John Paul II, Homily at Lisieux, June 2, 1980)
Security is knowing that I’m loved by my heavenly Father
We all have a need for Abba Father’s love no matter who is our earthly father
